Five runners set season bests at Soka Peace Invite

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - The Chapman University women's track team is improving with every meet and there's no greater proof than on Saturday where five Panthers set season bests in events at the Soka Peace Invite in Aliso Viejo.

Sophomores Wendy Belanger and Tori Rose each set personal bests in the 400-meters just one-hundredth of a second apart from each other. Belanger narrowly edged Rose with a time of 1:06.73 while the latter came in at 1:06.74.

Meanwhile, sophomore Anna Duffy earned a season-best 1:18.23 time in the 400-meter hurdles. Senior Brooke Brisbois set a personal record with a time of 1:27.20 in the same event.

Rose, Duffy, Belanger and sophomore Jackie Devot earned their best time of the year in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:40.27, as well.

The Panthers next travel to Fresno to compete in the Cal/Nevada Championships from March 28-29.
