Runners set personal bests, Collins nears record

CLAREMONT, Calif. –  The Chapman University women's track team set six personal records at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational on Saturday, including freshman Peyton Collins, whose time of 1:08.83 in the 400-meter hurdles was just .61 seconds shy of the school record.

Another freshman, Lisa Balducci captured first place within her heat in the 200-meter dash with a personal best time of 29.27. Balducci, Collins, sophomore Kate Emery and junior Tori Rose then teamed up for a third-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:22.97.

In addition, Rose set a personal best in the 200-meters with a mark of 29.56 and freshman Jessie Drews ran the 800-meters in 2:42.39 – also a personal record.

Long distance runner senior Kirstin Moore topped her previous best in the 1500 meters with a time of 5:43.5.
