Six personal records set at first Chapman SCIAC track meet

ORANGE, Calif. – Personal records highlighted the Chapman University women's track and field team's first-ever SCIAC multi-dual meet at Claremont Mudd-Scripps on Saturday. Six career records were set along with two third place finishes in the long jump and triple jump.

Freshman Darcy Hardwick grabbed a seventh-place finish in the 100-meter matching her exact time (13.49) from her previous outing. Hardwick also placed third in the long jump, recording a 4.89 meter jump. Sophomore Ema Solarova recorded her best triple jump of the season at 9.82 meters which placed her third in the meet.

The 4x400 meter relay team of Hardwick, Chanelle Astrof, Paola Pratt and Peyton Collins shaved four seconds off its previous finish of 4:22.06 from the week prior to 4:18.31. Their race marks a career-best finish for the relay team. Astrof also reached a personal record of 16.87 in the grueling 100-meter hurdles, finishing fifth and improving her time by two seconds from the previous meet.

The freshman combination of Jasmyn Domingues, Launa Kressin and Lisa Peterkin individually enhanced their best times in the 100, 800, and 1500-meter runs to 14.14, 2:45.47 and 5:21.50, respectively.

Chapman could not record a team score from the meet because it is not fully eligible within the SCIAC until next year to do so. The Chapman women compete next in the Cal State Fullerton Invitational March 10 at 10 a.m.
