More personal records set at second SCIAC track meet

ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University women's track and field team's second SCIAC multi-dual meet boasted several season and personal bests for the Panthers at Moorpark College, hosted by Cal Lutheran University on Saturday.

Sophomore Rose Fruci was the fastest Panther in the 100 meters, placing 11th overall with a time of 13.96 in addition to snagging a season-best time of 28.65 in the 200 meters, placing ninth. Fruci then teamed up with freshmen Darcy Hardwick and Jasmyn Domingues and junior Peyton Collins of the 4x100 meter relay which recorded a season-best mark of 52.84.

Running in the 400 meter event for the second time, Hardwick set a personal record in the 400 meters at 63.46 with a sixth-place finish. Also placing sixth in the 400 meter hurdles was Collins with a finish of 72.21.

Distance sprinters freshmen Lisa Peterkin and Nicole Jourdain set personal bests in the 800 meters with times of 2:32.28 and 2:38.38, respectively.

Chapman did not record a team score in the meet due to its year-long provisional status within the SCIAC. The Panther women will next compete at the Cal-Nevada Championships in Claremont on March 31 at 11 a.m.
