Deats named to women's track and field All-SCIAC team

ORANGE, Calif. – Capping off her historic season, freshman Lauren Deats was named to the women’s track and field All-SCIAC team in the 100 meter dash and the 200 meter dash in an announcement made by the conference on Wednesday. The Chapman University sprinter placed fourth overall in both events, repeatedly setting school records as she became the fastest woman in Chapman history.

ORANGE, Calif. - While the rest of campus begins preparations for final exams, Chapman University athletes will be tested early as they vie for SCIAC Championships in their respective postseason tournaments. In their first season of postseason eligibility, the following spring sports will look to add their names to join the women’s soccer team and swimmer Julie Case on the short list of Panther SCIAC Champions.

Speedy Panthers set several personal bests in second SCIAC Meet

A myriad of personal records highlighted the Chapman University women’s track and field meet at Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday. Among the personal-bests was freshman sprinter Lauren Deats who eclipsed her own 100 meter Chapman record (12.80), finishing the heat in 12.67 seconds.

Six members of the Chapman University women’s track team competed in the Cal-Nevada Championships at UC San Diego on Saturday. The Panthers showed continued improvement as they raced alongside the top track athletes across all divisions from the two states.

Deats becomes fastest women in Chapman history

Chapman University freshman sprinter Lauren Deats dashed into the school record books on Saturday afternoon, becoming the fastest Panther ever in the 100 meters with a time of 12.80 and a second place finish at the SCIAC Multi-Dual meet at the Strehle Track on the campus of Pomona College.
