Seniors end with four-game win over Hope International

ORANGE, Calif. - Led by its two seniors Jill Felger and Nicole Leslie in the final match of their careers, the Chapman University women's volleyball team rallied from a one-game deficit to defeat the visiting Hope International University Royals in four games (21-25, 25-21, 25-17, 25-22) at the Hutton Sports Center on Wednesday night.

The first game saw Hope International (5-19) steal some of the emotion of senior night from the Panthers as they jumped out to a 22-12 lead. Chapman clawed to within three points at 22-19 before the Royals closed out the game-one win by scoring three of the final five points.

From that point on, Chapman (15-13) took control of the match as the Panthers won the next three games to capture their 15th victory of the season. Chapman has now had a winning record in each of its last six seasons.

The Panthers' attack was led by Felger with 16 kills, junior OH Lyndsey Cargile with nine kills and Leslie who added five kills. Junior libero Linda Ly finished with a match-high 19 digs.

For Hope International, freshman OH Naomi Iosia finished with a team-high 14 kills while junior OH Amanda Elliott chipped in 13 kills.
