Chapman volleyball duo wins All-America honors

ORANGE, Calif. - Chapman University women's volleyball players Linda Ly and Jill Felger were each named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association 2008 All-America team this week. In addition, both players were also honored as first team AVCA All-West Region selections. Felger has now earned All-America honors the past three seasons, the only Panther volleyball player to do so.

Felger, a senior led the Panthers in total kills (278), kills per game (3.66) and hitting percentage (.346) this season. She ends her career ranked No. 2 on Chapman's all-time kills list with 1,142, an average of 3.72 kills per game and has the highest career hitting percentage in school history (.344). Earlier this month, Felger was also named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District VIII team.

Ly, a junior libero led the Panthers in 2008 with 578 digs, an average of 5.61 digs per game which ranked her No. 36 in Division III. For Ly it is her first AVCA All-America selection and second All-Region award. Ly is No. 1 on Chapman's all-time career digs list and now has 1,707 digs.

The Panthers finished the season 15-13, their sixth straight winning season.
