Chapman still 0-for-Hutton Center in 2010

ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University volleyball team remained winless at home in 2010, suffering a three-game sweep at the hands of NAIA's No. 3-ranked Biola University, 25-22, 25-13, 25-8 at the Hutton Sports Center on Friday night. The Panthers fell to 0-4 on their home court and saw their brief two-game winning streak snapped.

Biola (15-4) jumped out to a lead in all three games on the way to its sixth consecutive victory. The Eagles snapped a 4-4 tie in Game 1 with five straight points and that proved to be the difference in the opener. Chapman (7-9) rallied to within two points on several occasions, but could not get any closer and lost 25-22.

In the second game, Biola pulled away from the Panthers by scoring eight of the final 11 points. Chapman gained its only lead of the match at 2-1 in Game 3, but the Eagles followed with seven consecutive scores en route to a 25-8 decision.

For Biola, sophomore OH Christine Douglas tallied a match-high 19 kills and 11 digs. Senior MB Tavea Hampton aided the winning effort with 11 kills for the Eagles.

Chapman was led by freshman OH Mady Dahlstrom who finished with eight kills.

The Panthers' next crack at snapping their home winless streak will come next Friday when Chapman will host Moravian College (Pa.).
