Pair of fall athletes earn SCIAC sportsmanship honors

ORANGE, Calif. – A pair of Chapman University seniors have earned sportsmanship honors as part of the SCIAC's fall sports postseason awards. Panthers' volleyball player Andi Frisina and men's water polo player Drew Moyer were named to their respective All-Conference Sportsmanship teams for the 2014 season.

Frisina was a Second Team All-SCIAC selection as well, becoming just the fourth individual in school history to record over 500 digs in a season, totaling 521 in just 92 sets played. She finished the year ranked 29th in Division III and second in the SCIAC with 5.7 digs per set.

Meanwhile, Moyer was a leader for the Panthers' third-place water polo team – the school's highest finish and most wins (17) in school history. He played in all 27 games, scoring 18 goals and eight assists for Chapman.

The SCIAC recognizes student-athletes from each varsity sport who have demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship in their respective sport. These student-athletes exhibit respect for themselves, teammates, coaches, opponents and spectators. Through positive action and leadership, these student-athletes inspire others to adhere to the quality of sportsmanship the SCIAC and the NCAA endorse.
