Women's volleyball earns academic recognition from AVCA
ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University women's volleyball team earned recognition for its work in the classroom as a recipient of the American Volleyball Coaches of America's Team Academic Award. The Panthers earned the academic distinction for the third year in a row.
The women's volleyball team posted one of the highest team GPAs on campus this year with a 3.47 cumulative team GPA. The volleyball team trailed only women's golf in terms of GPA at Chapman and tied with the women's track & field team.
The AVCA Team Academic Award, which was initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale. The AVCA honored a record of 822 teams this year.
