• Chapman heads back to the SCIAC Tournament for the first time since 2013 when it heads to top-seeded Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Thursday at 7 p.m. The fourth-seeded Panthers finished the season 16-10 overall and 10-6 in the SCIAC while CMS was 23-5 and 15-1 in the SCIAC.
• CMS is ranked sixth nationally in the latest AVCA top-25 poll. The Athenas are the only SCIAC team in the rankings although both second-seed La Verne and third-seeded Cal Lutheran both appeared in the rankings at one point this year.
• The Panthers needed to go on a run to get a chance at qualifying for the SCIAC Postseason Tournament and won four matches in a row to climb from 6-6 to 10-6 and up to a third place tie with Cal Lutheran and Whittier. The Regals won the three-way tiebreaker but Chapman help the tiebreaker head-to-head with Whittier.
• CMS and Chapman are the only two teams to come into the tournament on a winning streak. Chapman won its last four in a row but CMS has won its last 14 matches in a row, dating back to its  loss to Chapman.
• The Panthers put the only blemish on CMS' SCIAC record this year with a five-set, marathon win at Hutton Sports Center on Sep. 23. CMS avenged the loss in Claremont with sweep on Oct. 20.
• For the first time in three years, the Panthers landed an All-SCIAC selection. Junior Lauren Friend was selected to the First Team after a career year and senior Kylie Cooke landed on the Second Team.
• Chapman and CMS are the two top hitting teams in the conference this year. CMS hit .249 this year while Chapman hit .213. Friend ranked second in the SCIAC individually, hitting .344 this year. She was second to CMS' Melanie Moore, who hit .407. CMS had three hitters in the top-5 in the SCIAC in hitting percentage while Cooke was the second Panther to rank in the top-10.
