Women's volleyball earns AVCA academic honor
LEXINGTON, Ky. – For the fifth consecutive year, the Chapman University volleyball team earned the Team Academic Award from the American Volleyball Coaches Association. The AVCA announced a record number of honored teams across high school and college volleyball.
The AVCA requires a 3.3 team GPA to earn inclusion on its annual academic award list. From girls and boys high school volleyball to every level of men's and women's college volleyball (including beach), the AVCA recognized 973 teams – 138 more than the previous record set last year.
The Panthers had one of the highest team GPAs on campus with a 3.53 team GPA at the end of the 2017-18 school year. They were also one of four SCIAC programs to earn the distinction.
