Srivastava earns SCIAC award after monster week

ORANGE, Calif. - Freshman Sophie Srivastava earned SCIAC Offensive Athlete of the week after helping lead the Panthers to five straight wins this past week.

The setter and outside hitter produced two triple doubles in her monster weekend at the Cal Lu Fornia Invitational in Thousand Oaks, Calif. She posted a .500 hitting percentage against Willamette where she also recorded the 15th triple double in NCAA Division III this year.

The Belmont, Calif. native boasted some high numbers this past weekend, including 65 assists, 54 kills, 36 digs and 13 blocks. The rookie also helped the Panthers to a sweep over No. 21 Southwestern University earlier in the week, hitting .412 with 18 assists, 14 digs and eight kills.

Srivastava's offense was top notch, as she hit .295 on the week averaging 3.65 kills per set, 4.88 assists per set and 2.94 digs per set.

The Panthers return to their home court to host Redlands in their first SCIAC match on Friday, Sept. 14 at 7pm.
