Srivastava, Lumsden earn All-Region honors

ORANGE, Calif. – The dynamic duo of sophomores Sophie Srivastava and Jessi Lumsden earned All-West Region honors after stellar seasons for the Chapman University volleyball team.

Srivastava is no stranger to All-Region accolades as the combination setter and right side hitter earned Honorable Mention honors last year. In her second season, the team captain led the nation with 11 triple-doubles. The two-time All-SCIAC First Teamer put up monster numbers all over the court, recording 2.52 kills and 3.69 digs per set. Her 6.38 assists per set led the Panthers and ranked fifth in the SCIAC.

Lumsden earned her first career All-Region honor after leading the SCIAC with 3.92 kills per set and 380 total kills this season. Her .255 hitting percentage led the Panthers and ranked ninth in the conference. The two-time All-SCIAC First Teamer and team captain also tallied 3.08 digs per set and 26 total blocks as Chapman's go-to outside hitter.

Srivastava and Lumsden helped the Panthers to a No. 2 seed in the SCIAC Postseason Tournament and a 23-5 overall record, their best since joining the SCIAC in 2012. Chapman defeated Cal Lutheran in a five-set thriller in the semifinal match before falling to nationally-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in the championship.
