Srivastava, Lumsden recognized on AVCA All-Region

ORANGE, Calif. – Dynamic senior duo Sophie Srivastava and Jessi Lumsden ended their careers with another All-Region nod from the American Volleyball Coaches Association. Both seniors earned multiple All-Region selections during their careers with Srivastava earning the recognition all three years and Lumsden being recognized for the second time.

Srivastava made Chapman history in her first hand full of matches with the first triple-double in Chapman history. She will graduate with 32 career triple-doubles for kills, assists and digs – the most in the nation since the NCAA started tracking the statistic in 2014. As a setter and right side hitter, Srivastava has done it all for the Panthers this year with averages of 3.0 kills, 5.5 assists, 3.2 digs and 0.71 blocks per set.

This season, the Belmont, Calif. native had 11 triple-doubles with seven coming in SCIAC matches. This the second All-Region First Team selection of her three-year career, following the Honorable Mention she received as a freshman. She was also honored as the SCIAC Newcomer of the Year as a freshmen, an All-SCIAC First Team selection as a sophomore and the SCIAC Player of the Year as a senior. The COVID-19 pandemic caused the cancellation of the Panthers' 2020 season.

For the second time, Lumsden was recognized on the All-Region teams. She received Honorable Mention as a sophomore but landed on the First Team this year. In jest three seasons, Lumsden put away over 1,000 kills and put up 785 career digs. She averaged 3.84 kills this season to lead the SCIAC and had a career-best mark of 3.19 digs per set. Her 3.71 kills per set career average ranks 10th among active players in Division III.

The Panthers advanced to the SCIAC Tournament championship match for the second season in a row and made the SCIAC Tournament all three seasons with Srivastava and Lumsden leading the way.
