Volleyball makes it 13 years in a row with USMC-AVCA Team Academic Award

ORANGE, Calif. – For the 13th year in a row, the Chapman University women's volleyball team has earned the US Marine Corps Team Academic Award from the American Volleyball Coaches Association. The USMC-AVCA Team Academic Award is an annual recognition of high school and college volleyball teams that maintain a 3.3 team GPA.

Chapman posted a 3.59 team GPA in 2021-22 to earn the award for the 13th year in a row and 14th time overall. The Panthers' streak of 13 consecutive years of earning the Team Academic Award is tied for the 16th-longest streak among NCAA Division III women's teams.

The AVCA recognizes volleyball teams from high school to college, indoor to beach, and both men's and women's. In total, over 1200 volleyball teams earned the Team Academic Award in 2021-22 with 212 of those coming from DIII.
