Srivastava named DIIICA Region X Women’s Sports Student-Athlete of the Year

ORANGE, Calif. – In the first year of an awards program sponsored by the Division III Commissioner's Association, women's volleyball standout Sophie Srivastava has been named a finalist for the Women's Sports Athlete of the Year.

The DIIICA announced its regional winners for the Student-Athletes of the Year from men's sports and women's sports with Srivastava selected as the winner for Region X, which encompasses Division III conferences in California, Texas and the Pacific Northwest.

Srivastava finished her undergraduate academic career with a perfect 4.0 GPA. She finished her athletic career as a two-time All-American and the all-time leader for triple-doubles through all three divisions of the NCAA. She was also named Chapman's Female Student-Athlete of the Year for 2021-22. She was the SCIAC Newcomer of the Year as a freshman in 2018 and the SCIAC Athlete of the Year as a senior in 2022.

She is one of 10 regional award winners and will move forward to the final step of the national award. A committee of voters from the DIIICA will pick one of the ten regional winners for the DIIICA Women's Sports Student-Athlete of the Year.
