Panthers pull away with big third quarter

ORANGE, Calif. - The Chapman University women's water polo team outscored the opposition 4-1 to start the second half of play and went on to defeat visiting Azusa Pacific University 13-8 at the Allred Aquatics Center on Friday afternoon. It was the Panthers second straight win.

Chapman (8-16) led 4-3 midway through the second quarter, but went on a 5-1 run that gave the Panthers a comfortable 9-4 lead late into the third. Senior 2-meter Sabrina Cook scored three goals during the stretch and all six of her goals in the second half to lead the Panthers' charge.

Freshman driver Briana O'Keefe also added three goals for Chapman.

In goal, sophomore Celia Huling made 10 saves for the Panthers, who improved to 5-5 at home this season.
