Women's water polo ranks third in the nation in team GPA

A remarkable 17 members of the Chapman University women’s water polo team (out of 19 on the roster) qualified for All-Academic recognition by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) for the 2013. And as a result of the Panthers’ hard work in the classroom, Chapman climbed into a tie for No. 3 in the nation in team GPA, up two spots from last year.

Three-time winner Martin headlines Chapman All-Americans

Senior utility Samantha Martin became the first player in Chapman University women’s water polo history to be named to the All-America team three times in her career, headlining three Panthers who earned national honors for the 2013 season.

Goalie duo named to Capital One Academic All-District teams

They’ve made their water polo careers by keeping their opponents off the scoreboard, while on their own scoring with regularity in the classroom. Chapman University’s men’s and women’s aquatics programs placed a pair of goalies on the Capital One Academic All-District VIII At-Large teams on Friday, as voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Martin, Quincy earn water polo All-SCIAC honors

ORANGE, Calif. – In its first full season as a member of the SCIAC, the Chapman University women’s water polo team had two players receive all-conference honors. Senior utility Samantha Martin and freshman utility Alison Quincy earned All-SCIAC honorable mention, leading the Panthers to a 14-15 record and a seventh place finish in the postseason tournament.

Women's polo goes 2-2 at championships, places seventh in SCIAC

After a weekend that featured an upset win over Division III’s No. 3-ranked Whittier College, the Chapman University women’s water polo team finished its first season in the SCIAC in seventh place overall. The Panthers went 2-2 in the SCIAC Championships to take sixth place in the tournament.

ORANGE, Calif. - While the rest of campus begins preparations for final exams, Chapman University athletes will be tested early as they vie for SCIAC Championships in their respective postseason tournaments. In their first season of postseason eligibility, the following spring sports will look to add their names to join the women’s soccer team and swimmer Julie Case on the short list of Panther SCIAC Champions.

Senior day spoiled by Panthers' third straight loss

In its final home game of the season, the Chapman University women’s water polo team dropped a 12-4 decision to Pomona-Pitzer on Wednesday at the Allred Aquatics Center. The loss extended the Panthers’ losing streak to a season-high three matches with just one regular season contest remaining.

Slow start stymies Panthers in water polo loss to Redlands

Unable to overcome an early deficit, the Chapman University women’s water polo team lost an important SCIAC match with Redlands, 9-7 at the Allred Aquatics Center on Saturday. The Panthers’ conference record dropped to 2-3 with just three matches remaining.

The Chapman University women’s water polo team had a strong showing in its season debut, winning two of its four games at the Posada Royale tournament in Thousand Oaks. The Panthers balanced out tough losses to nationally ranked Division I programs - No. 15 Cal State Northridge and No. 9 Long Beach State – with decisive victories over Caltech and Fresno Pacific.
