Everyone contributes to 16-2 win over Macalester

ORANGE, Calif. – Everyone that jumped in the pool (minus the goalie) scored for the Chapman University women's water polo team as it defeated visiting Macalester 16-2. Three Panthers scored twice as Chapman ended a four-match losing skid.

Sophomore Emiko Mizusawa highlighted the offensive outburst with a pair of goals to go along with three assists. Senior Alison Quincy and junior Deanna Farley each scored two goals as well. Chapman really spread the ball around as each Panther took her turn finding the back of the net. All 13 players that entered the match scored at least once to contribute to the decisive win.

Mizusawa scored the first goal of the match and there wasn't much room for doubt the rest of the way as Chapman led 4-1 at the end of the first and 9-2 at halftime. Sophomore Kerry Goodspeed made eight blocks to hold Macalester to just a pair of 6-on-5 goals. The Fighting Scotts did not find a way to get a ball past Goodspeed in the second half as she kept them off the board for the final 17 minutes of the contest.

The Panthers padded their lead with two more goals in the third and scored five times in the fourth to solidify the victory,

Next up, Chapman hosts George Washington on Wednesday at 4 p.m. in Allred Pool.
