Chapman duo named to All-SCIAC Team

ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University women's water polo team tabbed a pair of Panthers on the All-SCIAC team for the 2016 season. Senior Alison Quincy headlined the First Team while junior Emily Fong received Second Team honors.

Quincy earned First Team All-SCIAC honors for the first time in her career after leading the SCIAC with 84 goals this season and an average just under three per match. She also ranked second on the team with 46 steals and 19 multi-goal contests. The San Ramon native also ranked third on the team with 36 earned ejections while recording 16 assists.

Fong was awarded Second Team honors after ranking second on the team with 39 goals this season and third with 39 steals and 38 assists. Fong also recorded 30 earned ejections this season and had nine multi-assist matches, including a career-high seven assists against CMS in March.  

Senior Kate Avery also received sportsmanship honors after contributing 16 goals and leading the Panthers with 70 steals.

The trio led the Panthers to an overall record of 10-20 season as well as a fourth-place finish in the SCIAC Tournament.

The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference was established in 1915. The league is currently comprised of nine private colleges and universities in Southern California: California Institute of Technology, California Lutheran University, Chapman University, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges, University of La Verne, Occidental College, Pomona-Pitzer Colleges, University of Redlands, and Whittier College. The conference recognizes outstanding athletic achievements of its student-athletes on a weekly and annual basis.
