ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University Women's water polo team beat the visiting Macalester College 9-2 Friday afternoon. The Panthers captured the win with the help of senior Emily Fong, who is now third all-time in career assists at Chapman with 118 assists.

Fong tallied four assists against the Scots, pushing her up to third place in the record book. The Panthers were also led by senior Grace Schade, who scored four out of the Panthers' nine goals. Schade recorded the hat trick in the first quarter with back-to-back-to-back goals, adding the insurance goal just before halftime.

The Chapman defense was led by sophomore goalkeeper Alyssa Welfringer who blocked 15 shots. Welfringer also shut out the Scots in the second half, allowing the only two goals of the game for Macalester in the first half.

The Panthers travel to Redlands and Caltech for their next two games as they start SCIAC play, but will return home on March 25 to face off against the University of La Verne.
