ORANGE, Calif. – Senior Emily Fong closed out her career with Academic All-District VIII women's at-large honors as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Fong is Chapman's third student-athlete to earn the accolade this year, joining Marco Saglimbeni and Jared Love.

The 2M-D from Saratoga, Calif., is the seventh women's water polo student-athlete to earn the award in Chapman's history and the first since Kristin Spicer in 2015. She was the only water polo selection in District VIII to the competitive women's at-large team, which takes nominations from 14 different NCAA women's sports.

Fong finished out her career with the second-most in assists in Chapman's women's water polo history. She totaled 146 career assists after leading the team with 57 this year. Her 57 assists in 2017 are the third-highest total in Chapman's history for a single season.

She scored 31 goals this season to give her 120 career goals. She also had 40 steals and drew 48 exclusions.

In the classroom, Fong has posted a 3.86 GPA over her four years. She will graduate next week with a degree in Creative Producing.
