Women's water polo earns team and 12 individual academic honors

The Chapman University women’s water polo team was honored on the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches’ All-Academic list for another outstanding year in the classroom. In addition to the team award, 12 Panthers earned the individual academic honors.

A record number of Chapman student-athletes earn SCIAC All-Academic

July 18, 2022

Chapman University student-athletes set a new school record with 281 individuals earning SCIAC All-Academic recognition. The 281 individuals to earn the annual academic recognition are 22 more than year’s record-breaking number. The SCIAC annually recognizes student-athletes who have been at their institution for at least one academic year and finished the school year with a 3.4 cumulative GPA or better.

Long earns All-American accolades

Ally Long concluded her Chapman water polo career with All-America Honorable Mention accolades as selected by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches. The All-American accolade is the first of her career.

Long, Chiang earn All-SCIAC recognition

Camille Chiang and Ally Long each earned All-SCIAC Second Team recognition to end the 2022 season. Chiang was honored for the second year in a row while Long was recognized for the first time.

Women's water polo celebrates seniors with win over Oxy

The seniors were honored and closed out their careers victoriously as the Chapman women’s water polo team defeated visiting Occidental 14-8. Both teams were playing in their season finale.

Women's water polo locks down Caltech for second consecutive win

Three dominant quarters led the Chapman University women’s water polo team to a 14-4 win over visiting Caltech. Two players scored three times and Soul Parness allowed just one goal after the first quarter to key the victory.

Women's water polo comeback turned away in final seconds

It came down to the slimmest of margins. The final shot stayed halfway out and a valiant comeback attempt came up six inches short in a 7-6 loss for the Chapman University women’s water polo team against visiting Redlands.

Water polo falls to Pomona-Pitzer

April 02, 2022

The Panthers fell to No. 1 Pomona-Pitzer 21-8 on Saturday, Apr. 2. Chapman looked to have the Sagehens on their heels heading into the half only down four goals. The Panthers defense, spearheaded by goalie Chelsea Farinaro, were keeping the potent Pomona-Pitzer offense at bay. Farinaro ended with 12 saves.

The Chapman University women’s water polo team fell 11-7 in a hard-fought battle with the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Athenas. Chelsea Farinaro made six saves to help the Panthers keep pace with the visitors.

Long's seven goals help Panthers split double header

The Chapman Panthers split a double header between the Cal Lutheran Regals and Virginia Military Institute Keydets, losing 14-8 to Cal Lutheran and winning 14-11 against VMI. Ally Long and Camille Chiang were on fire all day; the duo combined to score 14 goals.

Stuart shines, Panthers fall to Explorers
