Women's water polo earns team and 12 individual academic honors
ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University women's water polo team was honored on the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches' All-Academic list for another outstanding year in the classroom. In addition to the team award, 12 Panthers earned the individual academic honors.
As a team, Chapman finished the 2021-22 academic year with a 3.28 GPA. The ACWPC annually honors collegiate water polo teams the finishe the year above a 3.0 team GPA. All student-athletes above a 3.2 cumulative GPA are also recognized individually in three tiers.
The ACWPC's first tier is Outstanding recognition for those with a GPA between 3.71-4.0. Jamie Chin, Kaitlyn Pasillas and Kasey Markell each landed in the Outstanding category to lead the Panthers. Superior honors go to those with a GPA between 3.41-3.70. Camille Chiang, Charlene Ma and Julia Bridges each earned the Superior recognition for Chapman.
The final category is Excellent, given to those with a GPA between 3.20-3.40. Six Panthers earned the ACWPC's Excellent recognition: Chelsea Farinaro, Grace Stuart, All-American Ally Long, Callie Malone, Maddy Ta and Sophie Salstrom.
The Panthers achieved the team award for the 11th year in a row.
