Weber leads Panthers at cross country regionals
SALEM, Ore. - Freshman runner Lillian Weber was Chapman University's top finisher at the NCAA Division III West Region championships at Bush Park on Saturday. Weber finished in 105th place overall with a time of 26:19.06 in the event which wrapped up the 2008 cross country season for the Panthers. The championships were hosted by Willamette University (Ore.).
Freshman Chris Cresci led the men with a time of 30:23.6 to come in 101st place overall. All four members of Chapman's men's team finished within 1:09.17 of each other, including freshman Andrew Sorensen who placed right behind Cresci with a time of 30:43.03.
Senior Beckie Takashima was just two seconds behind Weber in the women's race with a time of 26:21.68 in the final cross country meet of her career.
