Reece earns All-SCIAC honors

ORANGE, Calif. – Freshman Arabella Reece was selected to the All-SCIAC First Team after a stellar performance with the Panthers in her first season. She is the first ever cross country athlete to earn a spot on either All-SCIAC team.

Reece took ninth place at the SCIAC Championships with a time of 24:16.4 to land a spot on the First Team. The Murrieta native shattered the school 5k record in just her second race ever as a Panther. She then hit the course the very next weekend at the CSU San Bernardino Coyote Invite the very next weekend and broke her own record with a time of 18:03.5.

Reece then took on a new challenge – the 6k race. The rookie demolished the previous school record by over 30 seconds, finishing at 22:24.7. She now holds both top spots in the Chapman cross country record books.

Reece and six other student athletes head to Walla Walla, Wash. on Saturday, Nov. 10 to compete in the NCAA West Regionals.
