Athlete of the Week: Travis McGee - Baseball

Senior RHP Travis McGee threw a complete game shutout against Whittier College on Saturday, helping Chapman move into a first-place tie in the SCIAC standings. In seven innings, McGee surrendered a mere three hits and four walks, while striking out eight batters as the Panthers 'run-ruled' the Poets 10-0. McGee's complete game shutout was his second in three starts, last shutting out University of Dallas in seven innings. The righty has allowed two earned runs in his last five starts, posting an impressive 0.50 ERA and 13.0 strikeouts per nine innings over that span. On the season, McGee leads the team's starters with a 2.42 ERA and 66 strikeouts.
