Freshman Danielle Zahn led the Chapman University women’s lacrosse team to a big win as she scored a hat trick in the 9-8 win over Pomona-Pitzer on Wednesday. Zahn scored the Panthers first goal of the game to put Chapman on the board 3-1 at the 21:58 minute mark. The rookie then scored the tying goal at the 7:50 mark in the first half to even the score 5-5. Trailing 8-7, Zahn forced a turnover and then scored another equalizer with 5:08 to go. The Mission Viejo native finished the game with three ground balls, one caused turnover and won a pair of draw controls. The Panthers vaulted into first place behind Zahn’s three-goal effort and will play Whittier College on Wednesday, April 27 at 7 p.m. at Wilson Field in the SCIAC Quarterfinals.
