Senior Tyler Peck had 16 strikeouts in the Chapman University baseball team’s game against George Fox University on April 19 – just one strikeout shy of the school record.

He allowed just four hits – all singles – in a dominant performance. He did not issue a free pass and allowed only one runner to reach third. Eight of the last nine outs he recorded were strikeouts as he held the Bruins scoreless in a 0-0 ballgame.

The senior from Corte Madera, Calif., has racked up 99 strikeouts for the year, which ranks second in all of Division III. Additionally, his 243 career strikeouts ranks as the fifth-most among active Division III pitchers

Peck’s next strikeout will make him the ninth pitcher in Chapman’s Division III history to reach 100 strikeouts.
