Freshman Riley Brownfield helped the Chapman University women’s swim team to a couple of victories over Redlands and Caltech this past weekend at the first SCIAC tri-meet of the 2020 season. The Panthers earned a slim 121.0 – 120.0 win over the Bulldogs while handedly beating the Beavers 173.0 – 53.0.
Brownfield took first place in all three events she competed in. The Redwood City native took first in the 200 free with a time of 2:01.16, followed by another first place finish in the 100 free with a time of 56.29. She then helped the 400 free relay team to a first place finish, swimming the second leg of the race while the foursome finished with a time of 3:47.50.
