Junior Brittany McPherson helped the Chapman University women’s basketball team to a couple of crucial wins this past week, earning Chapman Athlete of the Week. The Panthers beat SCIAC-for Claremont-Mudd-Scripps 85-82 in double overtime before rolling to a 76-61 victory over La Verne five days later.

McPherson scored nine of her 12 points in both overtime periods to help lead Chapman to the win over the Athenas. She also dished out two assists while grabbing two rebounds. On Saturday afternoon, the Torrance native tallied her first career double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. She also tallied three assists in the win to help Chapman to a 5-2 ledger in conference play.
