Fall 2016 sports schedules announced
ORANGE, Calif. – All six schedules for the 2016 fall sports season are now online with the first contest a little over 2 months away. Football, women's volleyball, men's soccer, women's soccer, men's water polo and men's & women's cross country schedules can be found on their respective sports schedules.
The women's soccer team will officially kick off the 2016-17 year with a home match against UC Santa Cruz on Thurs., Sep. 1 at 4 p.m. on Wilson Field. The men's soccer team takes over Wilson Field the very next day to open the season against Fontbonne at 7 p.m. while women's volleyball opens on the road at the Pacific Coast Classic on Sep. 2 as well.
The men's water polo team opens its season on Sep. 3 at the Whittier College Tournament and will spend the first month and a half on the road. The Panthers first jump into Allred Pool on Oct. 15 when they host Redlands at 11 a.m. in the SCIAC opener.
For the second year in a row, the football season opens in Oregon when the Panthers travel to Linfield on Sep. 10. Chapman football hosts Trinity on Sep. 24 in its home-opener. After playing its first six matches on the road, the women's volleyball team plays its home-opener in the Hutton Center on Fri., Sep. 16 at 7 p.m. when the Panthers take on Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in SCIAC volleyball action.
On Sep. 17, both the men's & women's cross country teams head to the UC Riverside Invitational for the Panthers first race of the season.
The Panthers annual Homecoming game will be on Oct. 1 with a packed slate of Panther sports action. The men's soccer team kicks off at 1 p.m., first serve for the women's volleyball match is at 4 p.m. and the football game will begin at 7 p.m.
Chapman fans can spend a full day with the Panthers on Oct. 22 when four Chapman teams play at home at staggered times. Men's water polo begins the day with a big SCIAC match at 11 a.m. The men's soccer team hosts Redlands at 1 p.m. in a huge SCIAC matchup. The women's volleyball team hosts its Senior Day against Caltech at 4 p.m. and the day concludes with the football team taking on La Verne at 7 p.m.
