Baseball earns ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award

ORANGE, Calif. – For the fourth year in a row, the Chapman University baseball team was honored for its academic work. The (still) reigning NCAA Division III champions earned the American Baseball Coaches Association's Team Academic Excellence Award.

Chapman surpassed the required benchmark with a 3.39 team GPA. The ABCA annually recognizes all collegiate and high school teams that end the academic year above a 3.0 team GPA.

The Panthers earned the academic award for the fourth year in a row. Earlier in July, 15 Panthers were individually recognized on the SCIAC All-Academic Team with cumulative GPAs over 3.4.

Chapman won the 2019 NCAA Division III championship and started the 2020 season 12-3 before the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the season.
