Alfonso selected to D3football.com Team of the Week

ORANGE, Calif. – Chapman University junior K Mauricio Alfonso has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week for his efforts in the team's Week 11 19-13 loss to No. 13 University of Redlands. Alfonso had two field goals on Saturday including a career-high 46-yarder to go along with an extra point.

With two field goals against Redlands, Alfonso finished the season with nine which ties the single-season school record previously accomplished by Bill Hamlin in 1994 and Matt Deter in 2001. Alfonso was 9 for 11 this year on field goals which sets a school record for percentage in a season (81.8). He was 4 for 4 on field goals between 40 and 49 yards. The Los Angeles, Calif. native also finished the season 23 of 23 on PATs and is now a perfect 47 of 47 in his career.

Each week, D3football.com compiles nominations from sports information directors across the country and then votes on the D3football.com Team of the Week which is released each Wednesday.
