Bautista named to d3football.com Team of the Week

ORANGE, Calif. – Senior Ricky Bautista was named to the d3football.com Team of the Week this week for his huge performance on Saturday, Oct. 14 against Redlands. The veteran quarterback led the Panthers to a 45-26 victory over the Bulldogs to push the squad into first place in the SCIAC.

The Irvine, Calif. native completed 21-of-29 passes and threw for four touchdowns, throwing for over 70% efficiency for the third week in a row. Bautista also ran for one touchdown to cap off his 414-yard game and second 400-plus yard game of his career, becoming the first of any Chapman quarterback to accomplish two 400-plus yard games.

Bautista is the first Chapman football player to be selected to d3football.com's Team of the Week since Jeremiah McKibbons was nominated twice in 2014. He is only the 13th Panther and first quarterback to be named to the Team of the Week since it originated 19 seasons ago.

The senior has not thrown an interception in four weeks and has since gone 86-for-122. He leads the conference with 305.3 average yards per game in SCIAC games. He ranks second in the conference in completion percentage and touchdowns and has the highest passing efficiency rating at 216.8.
