Football headed to Mary Hardin-Baylor for first round

ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University football is back in the NCAA Division III Football Championship for the second time in four years and will head to Belton, Texas to take on Mary Hardin-Baylor in the first round.

The Panthers (6-2, 6-0 SCIAC) ran through the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with an undefeated record to win the title for the second time in four years and clinch the conference's automatic qualification.

Mary Hardin-Baylor won the 2016 Division III national championship and put together another undefeated season to earn a Pool B berth into the tournament. The Cru is 10-0, won the American Southwest Conference title and hasn't lost since the quarterfinals of the 2015 NCAA championship at Linfield.
