Vaccher makes school history, earns SCIAC award

ORANGE, Calif. – Senior Dominic Vaccher made school history on Saturday night as the Panthers came from behind to beat Cal Lutheran 33-29, earning this week's SCIAC Offensive Athlete of the Week.

The receiver caught for three touchdowns in the victory, but his final score was the one to get his name in the Chapman record books. Vaccher hauled in a 95-yard pass to give Chapman the lead in the fourth quarter, posting the longest touchdown reception in school history.

Vaccher put up some huge numbers against the Kingsmen. He caught for 307 yards, becoming the only receiver in all three Divisions of the NCAA to receive for over 300 yards in a single game this season.

The Fullerton native only needed seven catches to post 307 yards, averaging 43.9 yards per catch. Vaccher also helped the Panthers on special teams, returning three punts for 33 yards.

Chapman faces off against Pomona-Pitzer this Saturday, Oct. 27 at 7pm on Wilson Field in a crucial SCIAC matchup.
