Keefe named to D3football.com Team of the Week

ORANGE, Calif. – The awards keep rolling in for junior Dillon Keefe after the Panthers' opening weekend at Pacific University. The linebacker earned a spot on the D3football.com National Team of the Week after helping Chapman to a 45-14 victory in Forest Grove, Ore.

The announcement comes after Keefe earned SCIAC Defensive Athlete of the Week for his stout effort in the backfield on Friday evening. Three of Keefe's five tackles went for a loss while the Panthers held Pacific to just 10 yards on the ground and less than 300 yards of total offense. The Orange native also had a pair of quarterback hurries and forced his first career fumble.

The junior is already a nuisance behind the line of scrimmage, recording two sacks against the Boxers after tallying 4.5 total sacks in his freshman and sophomore campaigns.

Keefe also created problems for the Boxers' special teams. The captain blocked his first career punt in the fourth quarter to help set up another Chapman score just two plays later.

This is Keefe's first career National Team of the Week honor.

The Panthers take on Whitworth University in their home-opener on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m.
