Mike Molina joined Chapman’s coaching staff in 2015 after two years as the Head Coach at Costa Mesa High School. At Costa Mesa, Molina posted a career 28-26 record and led the Mustangs to back-to-back CIF playoff appearances.

Molina immediately contributed to the success of Chapman basketball, helping lead the Panthers to a 20-win season in 2015-16. Chapman finished at the top of the SCIAC standings and won the SCIAC Tournament to advance to the NCAA Tournament at the end of his first year. Chapman also qualified for the SCIAC Tournament in 2018. Since Molina's arrival, the Panthers have had nine All-SCIAC selections.

Molina was a decorated athlete in both baseball and basketball at Costa Mesa high School before playing basketball collegiately at Orange Coast College. He graduate with a backelor's degree from Chapman in 2019 and followed it up by finishing his Master's in Leadership and Development from Chapman in 2021.
