Three golfers tie at 1-over in Tustin Ranch finale

TUSTIN, Calif. – The Chapman University men's golf team had four players in the clubhouse within three strokes of par as the Panthers concluded the regular season in a home dual match with Pomona-Pitzer Colleges at Tustin Ranch Golf Course on Wednesday.

Senior Josh Hurst, sophomore Nickolas Gates and freshman Bryan Wise each shot a 73 (1-over par) to tie for second place in the field on Wednesday. Junior Giovanni Chiappano carded a 75 (3-over par) to secure sixth place as the Panthers totaled 299 overall.

The rookie Wise improved his 18-hole season average to 75.1 and shot two strokes better than the 75 he shot at Tustin Ranch last week against Cal Lutheran. Wise is the Panthers' favorite in what is expected to be a competitive field at the SCIAC Championships this weekend.
