Men's golf opens season at SCIAC #1

VENTURA, Calif. – The Chapman University men's golf team opened the 2022 spring season with a seventh-place finish at SCIAC #1. Bradley Lu was Chapman's top-finisher on the individual leaderboard.

Chapman finished with a team score of 606 (+30) for the two-day tournament. After firing of a 310 (+22) in the first day of the tournament, Chapman dropped 14 stokes to finish with a 296 (+8) as a team.

Lu began the tournament with a 76 (+4) and followed it up with an even par 72 on day two to take 13th overall. Charlie Shumway also shot a 72 on the second day but carded a 77 (+5) on the first day to finish one stroke behind Lu in 16th.

Dylan Horowitz and Trent Gardner tied for 33rd overall as both finished with a 155 (+11) over the two rounds.

The Panthers head to Las Vegas, Nev. for their next tournament at the Aliante Invitational, beginning Mar. 10.
