Men's Tennis falls to Bowdoin at home

ORANGE, Calif. - The Chapman University men's tennis team lost its third home match of the season, falling to visiting No.18-ranked Bowdoin College (Me.) 7-2 at the Chapman Tennis Courts on Sunday afternoon.

Senior No. 1 singles player Justin Thompson earned his second dual match win of the season, with straight sets win over Bowdoin's Luke Trinka 6-2, 6-3. It was Thompson's second win over a regionally-ranked opponent this season, improving his record to 2-3.

Freshman No. 2 singles player Justin P. Thompson came from behind dropping the first set 6-2, to defeat Bowdoin's Noah Brag 6-4, 6-2. Thompson improved to 3-1 in from the second spot this season.

From there, Chapman (2-3 overall) dropped the next four singles matches and fell 0-3 in doubles competition.

Senior Justin Thompson and junior Hunter Morris fell 8-5 to Bowdoin's Noah Bragg and Gil Roddy for their second straight loss of the season.

Chapman will face another out-of-region team and look to improve to .500 on the season when it hosts Rochester University (N.Y) on Tuesday, March 10 at 10 a.m. at the Chapman Tennis Courts.
