Men's tennis falls 9-0 to third-ranked Bowdoin

ORANGE, Calif. - The Chapman University men's tennis team took on No. 3 Bowdoin in a Sunday matinee but fell 9-0. The Panthers fell to 0-4 to start the season as they continued a tough non-conference schedule.

The Polar Bears were the second nationally-ranked team on the Panthers schedule and the sweep was the first against the Panthers this season.

After sweeping the doubles matches, the Polar Bears won all six singles matches in straight sets. Junior Len Kamemoto made his second start at the top of the lineup but fell 6-1, 6-4 to the 19th-ranked Division III player. Freshman Adrien Rooney took on eighth-ranked player Jerry Jiang and forced a tiebreaker in the first set. Jiang came away with the 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 win at No. 2.

The Panthers take on Haverford on Wednesday at 1 p.m.
