Men's water polo team, 11 individuals earn academic honors from ACWPC

ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University men's water polo team posted the eighth-highest GPA in the nation and 11 individuals were named to the 2017 Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches Scholar-Athlete Team this afternoon.

As a team, the Panthers own a 3.29 GPA, which ranked eighth among water polo teams from all three divisions and nationwide, to earn the All-Academic Team honor.

Nominations were made by head coaches with student-athletes recognized at three levels – Outstanding, Superior and Excellent. Student athletes in the Outstanding category earned a GPA between 4.0-3.71, Superior student athletes earned between 3.7-3.41 and Excellent student athletes earned between 3.4-3.2.

The honors were headlined by freshman Garrett Wilson, sophomore Cameron Genetti, junior Kevin Dayan and senior Wilson Parnell, who each earned Outstanding recognition.

Representing the Panthers in the Superior category were sophomores Eric Sichak, Wesley Hertel, Jared Bernardi, and John Macdonald. Senior Louis Campbell, sophomore Peter Dales and freshman Jack Gregov rounded out the selections, each earning Excellent recognition.
