Men's water polo drops match to Whittier
ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University men's water polo team dropped a SCIAC match to visiting Whittier 14-10 on Saturday. A slow start to the match proved too much to overcome in the second half.
Everett Prussak scored four goals to lead the Panthers and Ben Blatt made six second half saves for a much improved Chapman defense. However, Whittier jumped out to a 10-2 halftime lead and held off the Panthers for their second SCIAC win.
Patrick Seelhorst scored five of his seven goals in the first half to fuel the early effort for the Poets.
In the second half, the Panthers immediately started cutting into the deficit. They scored five in the third and three more in the fourth while holding Whittier to just four goals for the half.
The Panthers head to Cal Lutheran on Wednesday and return home next Saturday to take on Pomona-Pitzer at 11 a.m.
