Men's water polo sends off seniors with win

ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University men's water polo team sent off its seniors with a 14-11 win over visiting Cal Lutheran on Saturday. Everett Prussack led the Panthers with four goals. Chapman swept the season series from Cal Lutheran.

Chapman scored the first two goals of the game and never trailed in the regular season ending victory. Dylan Gallegos put the Panthers on board with the two early goals. The lead grew to as much as five goals early in the third quarter when Chapman went up 9-4.

The Kingsmen fought their way back into it to make it 9-7 at the end of the third. The Panthers stole momentum immediately back to start the fourth as Prussack, Ryan Baumann and Nate Randolph scored in Chapman's first few possessions of the quarter to grow the lead back to five goals at 12-7.

From there, the Panthers held off the Kingsmen in the late stages to grab the victory headed into the expanded SCIAC Tournament. Chapman will enter the tournament as the No. 6 seed. Cal Lutheran will host a first round game.
