Bio

Monica has been assisting Lloyd since the 1995 championship season. 

Colunga earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Chapman University in Movement and Exercise Science with an emphasis in Athletic Training and a Teaching Credential in Physical Education in 1983.  While at Chapman, Monica competed on the Track and Field team her senior year and earned “Most Improved Player Award”.

Colunga earned a supplemental teaching credential in Spanish in 1987 and received her Master of Arts in Education from Azusa Pacific University in 1995.  Colunga earned both her Tier I and Tier II Administrative Credential form UCI and a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership through the UCI/UCLA doctoral program in 2011.

Dr. Colunga began her tenure as principal of Irvine High School in the fall of 2007.  She worked as an adjunct faculty member at Chapman University from 1997-2002.  Currently, Dr. Colunga serves on the CIF Southern Section Council and sits on the State CIF Federated Council and the State CIF Executive Committee.
