Chapman swim programs earn scholastic awards

Chapman University’s men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams have been recognized by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), each earning 2014 Spring CSCAA Team Scholar All-America awards supported by Nike Swim.
Chapman athletes recognized on SCIAC All-Academic teams

Chapman University student-athletes were well-represented during the 2013-14 academic year as the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference named its All-Academic teams by sport. Leading the way for the Panthers was women’s soccer, which garnered a conference-best 14 honorees.
Case earns All-SCIAC honors for the second time

Chapman University senior distance swimmer Julie Case has earned All-SCIAC honors for a second year in a row after taking second place in the women’s 1,650-yard freestyle at the 2014 SCIAC Swimming & Diving Championships at the Brenda Vila Aquatics Center last month.

The Chapman University men’s and women’s teams experienced mixed results at the 2014 SCIAC Swimming & Diving Championships at the Brenda Villa Aquatics Center over the weekend. The women finished in seventh place overall, just 4.5 points behind sixth-place University of La Verne. Meanwhile the men placed ninth (last) overall.
Another school record, medal for Case at SCIAC Championships

On Day 1 of the SCIAC Swimming and Diving Championships at the Brenda Villa Aquatics Center on Friday, it was senior distance swimmer Julie Case who grabbed the spotlight for Chapman University. Case broke her own school record in the 500-yard freestyle and placed third in the event with a time of 5:03.81.
Diver sets school record, lands in fifth at SCIAC Championships

Chapman University men’s diver Bobby Herrman earned fifth place at the SCIAC Championships at the Brenda Villa Aquatics Center on Thursday in the 3-meter springboard event, setting a Panther record in the process. The senior will compete one final time in the 1-meter springboard beginning at 1 p.m. on Friday.

The Chapman University men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will cap off their seasons at the SCIAC Swimming and Diving Championships which begin Thursday and finish on Sunday at the Brenda Villa Aquatics Center in Commerce, Calif.
Panthers swim, dive into tie for fourth in SCIAC

The Chapman University women’s swimming and diving team earned an important win over visiting Caltech on Saturday, climbing into a three-way tie for fourth place in the SCIAC standings with one more dual match remaining before the conference championships. The Panthers defeated Caltech 168-43, while the men fell to the Beavers 106-90 at the Allred Pool.

After winning its first home event of the season, the Chapman University women’s swimming and diving team dropped a 232-119 decision to Pomona-Pitzer at the Allred Olympic Pool on Saturday. The men’s team came up short as well, falling to the Sagehens by a final tally of 225-74.
Panther women speed past Cal Lutheran in home opener

Swimming in its first home event of the season, the Chapman University women’s swimming and diving team defeated visiting Cal Lutheran University 129-104 at the Allred Pool on Saturday. The Panther men fell to Cal Lutheran 180-50 in the second SCIAC meet of the season for both squads.
