Toole earns Scholar All-America recognition from CSCAA

ORANGE, Calif. – Freshman Kellyn Toole found success in the classroom and on the diving board in her first year at Chapman and has earned Scholar All-America Honorable Mention from the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America.

The SCIAC champion on both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving boards also posted a GPA above 3.5 in her first year on campus. She became Chapman's first multi-event champion in the Panthers short history in the SCIAC and qualified for the NCAA Diving Regional in addition to excelling in the classroom.

The freshman from Durango, Colo. is the first Chapman swimmer or diver to earn the individual recognition on the Scholar All-America team. In order to qualify, swimmers and divers had to own a 3.5 GPA or better while also participating in their respective NCAA Championships. Student-athletes who had a 3.5 GPA or better and also achieved a "B" time standard or qualified for a regional or zone qualifying meet earned Honorable Mention.

A total of 853 student-athletes earned First Team recognition while an additional 894 earned Honorable Mention.

Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) – the oldest organization of college coaches in America -is a professional organization of college swimming and diving coaches dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming & diving at the collegiate level.
